"Our family of five, including three children 10 and under, spent a gorgeous late Spring week at Rainier du Chais in 2017. The pool and its terrace were perfect sun-traps. We especially loved the fact that dining out was so convenient: ranging from outstanding brasseries like Comptoir De Genès through to La Terrasse Rouge which is just spectacular at sunset. In short, go for a week, better still, stay for two."

"Idyllic! A fantastic entertaining house for all seasons with a great ambience. The pool and view from the rear of the house is truly special (and very relaxing). Although you don't want to leave the house, the location is perfect for touring local attractions, good restaurants and wine tasting too. I would certainly return for another visit."

"We stayed in this stunning villa for a long weekend in July 2017. We loved the landscaped gardens leading down to the inviting infinity pool, and soaking up the views of the countryside from bean bags on the terrace. The house has been beautifully and elegantly decorated and was perfectly set up for enjoyment by us and our children.  The centre of St Emilion was only minutes away by car so the whole family could enjoy a tour of the town and lunch, rounded off with a swim and a sunset glass of wine back at the villa."

Third visit as brilliant as the first two! The Harvest weather of late September was cooler than mid-summer, but still perfect for relaxing by the pool or wandering through the vineyards into Puisseguin village. This trip we were a party of six adults - plenty of room to spread out in the plush bedrooms, to curl up with a book in the grand salon or linger over a red beneath one of the arbors. The lavender scented gardens are beautifully designed and the accommodations are as impressive on the inside as the house is from the outside, rising above the terraced vineyards. Stay here. You won't be disappointed. And if you do tear yourself away from the property, there're the beaut towns of St Emilion and Montaigne to explore, with plenty of fine dining options (restaurant tip: Candale, Les Terrasses Rouge & Comptoir St Genes)."

"Beyond all expectations. I give Rainier du Chais 5 stars. Six of us stayed for a week at the end of September and the location was perfect. Nestled in amongst the vineyards you really got to experience the countryside. The house itself is gorgeous and decorated beautifully and functionally. The rooms are very generous and there are plenty of spaces to relax (both inside and out). The infinity pool and terrace are the perfect place to enjoy the region’s wine and cheese of an evening. A better view cannot be found.

There is so much to explore around the area and I wish we had another few days at least. Driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road was easy to master in this part of France for an Aussie driver. I would definitely recommend Rainier du Chais for a French country escape."

"Ours was a party with three generations – children, parents and grandparents – for a week long-stay in July. It was great to have so much space to relax and the views are captivating. Highlights from our week included a dinner in the Medoc, a village festival one evening and relaxing by the pool. We much appreciated the baby sitting service, high speed broadband and three BBQs! We will be back."

Thank you Rainier du Chais for providing us with our second wonderful holiday among the beautiful vineyards of Puisseguin. Returning for the second time felt like coming home. We love everything about the villa, the fabulous country style kitchen flowing into the informal living room, the elegant lounge with open fire & we love browsing the library. The bedrooms are very spacious & well 'spaced' with bathrooms in each wing of the house. This allows for privacy & time alone if in a larger group. We enjoy the master suite ourselves, which has its own doorways onto the pool deck where of an afternoon it is a must to lounge by the pool & enjoy a local wine & the superb French cheeses.

Rainier du Chaise is walking distance into the charming village of Puisseguin but also so close to St Emilion, Libourne, Bourdeaux and smaller villages, too many to list - all of which have their beautiful vineyards, wonderful restaurants & historic places to see.

Can't wait to return. No 3 coming up!
